miscellanious letters to trainers sent out 7 / 20 / 2020

Hello Mr. McCabe,

I was hoping to get your help with an ongoing, highly emotional, problem I have with my dog. I have had such horrible luck with other trainers and I am reaching out for help, one last time.

My dog came home from his last board and train session a complete mess. On one hand, I have a strong need to broadcast my experience to protect future dogs. On the other hand, I highly respect people that train dogs for a living. So, I am hesitant to negativly impact ANY dog trainer's livelihood by posting my experience on popular online reviews spots.

This trainer is listed as a TBTE trainer on your site.

Instead, I was hoping you could step in and re-educate on how to safely and properly board/train dogs. One way or another, this kind of treatment to dogs should never happen to another dog. It's possible, a discussion with you could make enough of an impact for change. I think I could be "ok" with an intervention from you.

Could you possibly spare some of your limited time to read my review, and talk to them? I hope you can help them understand that they need to treat boards waaay better? If time allows, can you let me know if you feel they has "heard" your advise, so I can rest easier?

S. Davis

I made a website, it's only viewed when I send a link to someone.. like my vet, friends/family, other customers with similar experience, etc.

ps. It was difficult, but I tried to be objective. I have stated the facts from in-person observations during owner trainer and actual mental/physical condition of my dog when I brought him home.

pss. I was offered to fix/continue the training. But after seeing the condition of my dog after 2 months, I would be neglegent to take him back to that environment.

Hot topics on review:
-Tramatized by crate
-Eye damage due to overuse of vinegar spray
-non sugested use of vineger- TBTE guidlines
-Extreme! thirst due to unbalanced diet
-Overall neglect and lack of training
-"Away" large percentage of time during dog's stay
**** Advised it was "OK" to get a puppy
we were "surprised" our dog was still highly aggressive upon return
had to back out of puppy, lost $$$$!!!!

BRITTANY

I have had daily reminders of the "training" you did to Jett.  Recently, He's beginning to heal from your "care"  Finally, Jett's eyes have finally stopped weeping and I have, finally, made his crate a place of sanctuary.. It's been 8 long months of hard work to fix just some of your work.

You screwed up with Jett.. big time.

Here's a heads up.  I sent a letter to my local vet, referring trainers and Mark McCabe about my experience with you.
I am not interested in excuses.. so don't bother replying.   I have blocked your emails/messages.

I guess I am still a softy, I think about you trying to raise a kid while training dogs.  Those online reviews are so permanent.  And well, even if I did that, then you would just pile on more manufactured reviews and bury it, like you just did with the other bad reviewer.

Tell you what, make a change and do better, and I'll keep my review off review sites for now.

But I'll be watching..  I'll keep the "vinegar" handy.

In the meantime:  let your peers/mentor help re-educate you in proper/safe dog care.
If there's hope things can change and future dogs are safe/safer, I think I can put this behind me.

NON-NEGOTIABLE: Immediately REMOVE ALL JETS PICTURES AND VIDEOS from facebook, online anywhere and everywhere.  It's infuriating to think he is being used to further your training biz.  He is NOT an example of good training.  Be thorough,  search for "Jett" and "Jet",  ... I will check in a few days.  Get 'er done.

DO WAY BETTER!

ps.  Since Jett is a AZBC rescue, I'm thinking they would be interested to know how Jett was treated, too...  but I haven't decided to send it to them yet.

Or the 3,913 friends Jett has on facebook..

hi there, If you can recall, you came out and saw our rescue border collie, Jett. He was making some progress then he ended up bitting a neighbor, or two.. I hope you remember.

hi there, If you can recall, we talked about training our rescue border collie Jett. He was making some progress then he ended up bitting a neighbor, or two.. I hope you remember.

Maryna Ozuna,
hi there, If you remember, You talked on the phone with me and my husband about training our rescue border collie Jett. He is dealing with people fear aggression and you recomended Brittany at Puppy Sense. I hope you remember. We had touched on the experience we had while on the phone to you.

I did take Jett to Brittany, puppy sense for two months. I can't say we had a good experience, if fact, it was pretty much a disaster.

I do not hold you accountable at all, it was our decsion to make. But now that I have had Jett home for several months, I felt it was time to get it all "out there" and finally move on. I hope you can find some time to look over my review and think about what happened to Jett before you recomend the board and train from brittany in the future. In my opinion, no dog should ever be treated this way again.

I made an online review/blog.

Despite the horrid training Jett has been through, we have been making some real progress with his people / fear aggression. He's a unique dog and we found a unique ways to reassure him about people. slow and sure improvement. He was actually non reactive with a runner coming right at him!!

I think Brittany can help some dogs, as long as they stay at home.. no boarding.
